Nashville era — the year everything changed direction.
Music has always been part of Baquas' life.
Growing up around a music professor and singing in boys' choir and church, he was immersed in music from an early age and pursued it seriously, eventually signing with a record label — a move that brought him to Nashville. There, he crossed paths with a renowned music video producer who encouraged him to step behind the camera and begin working in film production. Boom. His life changed forever.
What followed was nearly two decades in film and television. Baquas worked on music videos for major artists including Jo Dee Messina, Garth Brooks, and Aaron Tippin, and became an Academy of Country Music–nominated video producer for Aaron Tippin's "Where the Stars and Stripes and the Eagle Fly."
He later stepped in front of the camera as a television news reporter in major markets including Indiana and Miami, while continuing to produce television, documentaries, music videos, and nationally distributed projects.
Through every chapter, the medium changed, but the instinct never did: use his voice, tell stories, and create.
Whether through film, television news, documentaries, music, a business idea, or something built on the web, creativity has always been the common thread.
After nearly two decades in film and television, Baquas shifted gears again, this time toward entrepreneurship. But the need to create never went away.
While building businesses of his own, he found himself returning to where it all started: music. Today, he lives in South Florida with his current ride-or-die, Leda.
Baquas has spent his life refusing to fit neatly into one box — and this next chapter is no different. Call it a midlife awakening. Call it unfinished business. Either way, the music is back.
